With the weather getting warmer and the sun staying out for longer it feels almost perfect to grab a smoothie mid afternoon. Today, I had my boyfriend walk with me (in Madrid) down Gran Via, past Sol, to our favorite marketplace Mercado de San Miguel. At San Miguel there are small booths lined on the outer edge with floor to ceiling windows each that specialize in some type of food. (To die for!) There is sushi, vegetables, fish, cheese, wines, pasta, coffees, desserts, caviar (for those with extremely rich taste buds), and more. We come here at least once a week to get a selection from each of the mini stores and enjoy them right in the middle of the market. Sometimes it gets so crowded that we even need to stand! The air is lively and full of happy Madrilenos, sipping their wine and eating their cheese selection or bocadillos. YUM!! When you are in Madrid coming here is a must for a light lunch, snack, or even just an afternoon drink. It is completely devine.
