A fashion icon onscreen and off, it’s no secret
Gossip Girl’s IT Girl Blake Lively’s awe-inspiring fashion taste is 100% her own. Dreading the very idea of having someone else steal her hobby, in Glamour’s upcoming issue, Blake openly admits to taking on the responsibility of styling herself. And here too, as in the movie realm, her talent is not going unrecognized. Accompanying Chanel’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld to this year’s Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute gala, Lively has not only managed to land herself compliments from one of fashion’s most influential designers, but also convinced Mr. Lagerfeld of her suitability for representing Chanel’s trendy and youthful line of ”Mademoiselle” handbags.
And the team at Chanel aren’t the only ones that Lively continues to impress with her personal style. This summer, the rising star covers yet another Glamour issue - and this time, it is the one that hits closest to home. In it, staying true to her polished minimalist style, Blake Lively draws on Brigitte Bardot’s iconic photographs taken in the fifties to show that nothing is as sensual and powerful as mere simplicity.
