Even a week after the 2011 MTV Movie Awards took place, the blogosphere continues to buzz over Emma Watson’s red carpet look. In fact, Emma’s Marchesa dresses have been generating so much noise, it almost feels like the MTV Movie Awards are happening all over again. But of course, I know this not to be the case. Nevertheless, as I have not yet had the opportunity to commend the young star earlier on her choice of dress for the big night, I will do so now. So here it is: Great dresses Emma, five stars from me! And to show my admiration further still, I would have loved to list all those magazines who thought she was the best dressed that night. But although I want to, it would be almost impossible to list them all considering almost all of them did vote for her. And like all of them, including Teen Vogue, I too think she was by far the #1 best dressed celebrity of the evening. I’m thinking by miles here! And if you think about it, it is hardly surprizing considering the 21-year-old practically grew up in all things high fashion thanks to her role as the lead lady in Harry Potter. I mean, how many events and fashion shows has she attended?! A million probably – right?! So the girl has definitely been able to learn a thing a two along the way. And as her red carpet and after party looks both demonstrate, she unquestionably has!
While the first embellished Marchesa dress was very glamorous in a classic-sophisticated kind of way, the after-party mustard green ruffled chiffon Marchesa was so much of a cocktail delight, you almost couldn’t help contain your excitement over it. With her hair brushed back, styled with modest accessories and silver Brian Atwood Maniac Metallic Leather Platform Pumps to complete look 1, and gold Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and pumps to complete look 2, Emma Watson made it hard to imagine anybody else pulling the outfits together in quite the same way as she did that night.
