Despite only recently discovering Aminaka Wilmont; the duo’s avant-garde designs have smitten me completely. Skilfully mixing decadence with eccentrism, Maki Aminaka and Marcus Wilmont’s Spring 2011 RTW collection utilizes elements reflective of the label’s aesthetic, falling nothing short of brilliant in sum. Juxtaposing prints and textures, Aminaka Wilmont gives this season’s designs the type of edge that made the label known for pushing boundaries. At the same time, the classically feminine silhouette contributes to creating a timeless collection that will without doubt build a strong following in the years to come.
