As a matter of fact, it wasn’t until I discovered a sample tucked in my last month’s Marie-Claire issue, that I even realized L’Oreal had this magic souffle out. Anyways, all feelings aside - a sample is a sample, and as such, I had to try it. Although sceptical at first (as you can imagine), surprisingly, the light ivory blended in perfectly with my natural skin tone. And I didn’t even use a foundation brush. Just my fingers!
Anyways, to cut a long story short, then and there, I fell in love. Attached are the before (Right) and after (Left) photos to help explain why. As promised, the souffle not only evened out my skin tone, but left me with a poreless perfection. Amazing! As promised. Although, I know L’Oreal’s Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base was largely responsible for that. After all, the point of a primer is to even out the skin’s texture for smooth and even application of foundation afterwards - right. And, in case you’re interested, I think L’Oreal’s primer/base fares well in comparison to those of other brands. I found it to be light and oil-controlling.
Actually, it is the product line’s lightweight that really won me over. As soon as I applied L’Oreal’s Magic Smooth Souffle, I couldn’t believe I had finally found a foundation that allowed my skin to breathe! Yes, that’s how great of an experience I’ve had with it. But maybe I’m biased. Maybe it’s just lightweight compared to my usual foundation of choice (Estee Lauder’s Long-Wear / Lightweight foundation).
Anyways, whatever the case may be, I’d definitely recommend trying it out at least. In my experience, it blends well, easy to apply, and leaves you feeling like it’s not even there. If you do decide to try it, hopefully you’ll find a shade (of the 12 available) that will work for you as well as it did for me.
